Our LA Volunteer Visitor Programme is a peer support service that matches recent amputees with more experienced amputees who can give them practical advice and information relating to limb loss. The LA has been providing this peer support for over 20 years and we have recently received National Lottery funding to build upon this success.
Our new Volunteer Visitor project team are working hard behind the scenes developing the programme and volunteering opportunities. We are now looking for more volunteers to help us to expand the Volunteer Visitor Programme. If you are an amputee of at least two years and would like to use your experiences to support other people who are new amputees or have ongoing challenges, please get in touch.
Our current volunteers and those who’ve already register interest in being part of the redeveloped project, we’ll be in touch with you soon.
To find out more virtually, we are excited to announce that the LA Volunteer Visitor team will also be hosting a virtual stand at the national Volunteer Expo on the 7th and 8th May. As part of the Expo, we will be live-streaming an information session on becoming a Volunteer Visitor which will give information on the role and requirements, as well as the support and training we provide. Please join us at this online event to find out more, meet the team and discuss the new service and opportunities.
