LA Hubs are supported by a dedicated outreach support worker – Hub Co-ordinators. Our Support & Connect Hubs meet monthly to provide amputees with the opportunity to meet with other amputees, to share their experiences, and take part in planned activities. These activities vary, but our ‘Sitting Yoga’ sessions have been a success in promoting wellbeing.
Hub attendees can speak with Limbless Association staff or volunteers for further support and guidance regarding benefits, arranging a peer-support visit, or other challenges.
Our Volunteer Visitor network has been offering peer to peer support for over 20 years. The service offers peer mentoring from amputees with lived experience of limb loss, who can offer practical advice to more recent amputees.
By supporting the LA, you can help us to train Volunteer Visitors and support new amputees through the physical and emotional complexities of limb loss.
Our helpdesk supports amputees, their families and carers. Service users are supported by a friendly and supportive team who assist with information and advice on a range of topics.
We take a multi-agency approach and can assist with and signpost to local support providers. The LA helpline is increasingly getting busier and your support is vital in ensuring that this service is available to the many who experience limb loss.
Our quarterly printed StepForward magazine helps to keep our members informed, inspired and entertained. Each issue includes the latest information on sector topics, updates on our services as well as sharing positive and inspirational life experiences from amputees. In each issues we cover a range of topics that are important to our community.
