£3 provides a copy of the LA’s StepForward magazine to LA members for free. It’s the only civilian amputee publication in the UK and is a vital source of information and support to the limb loss community.
£12 enables our experienced services support team to provide vital information and advice. Offering the right support and an empathetic approach pre or post-amputation is crucial for new amputees and their families to successfully navigate the complexities of limb loss.
£50 provides one Hub support session for amputees and their families. The LA’s Support and Connect outreach team, all amputees themselves, run weekly online Hub Chats, thematic events and in-person support Hubs providing group peer support.
£100 provides a comprehensive training and development programme for amputees who are ready and able to support newer amputees. The LA Volunteer Visitor programme has supported hundreds of volunteers who’ve provided thousands of ‘visits’ to newer amputees for over 20 years. Peer volunteers support with their lived experience of the challenges and offer coping strategies across a range of queries and concerns.
