Congratulations to the winners!
The awards recognised and celebrated high levels of resilience, commitment, achievement and excellence across the sector with recipients anticipated from both patient groups and sector professionals.
The awards were announced at the Limbless Association’s celebration event on 2nd November 2023. where LA members and sector professionals came together for an afternoon of celebration, lunch, keynote speakers and afternoon tea.
The Awards Process
Nominations were open to LA members and entries were reviewed and shortlisted by the LBLL Awards judging panel (LA Trustees/members/volunteers/professionals).

An individual solicitor or legal team who have worked within the limb loss sector having made a significant contribution or difference in supporting lives beyond limb loss.
Outstanding Prosthetist Award

The role of a prosthetist is central to the rehabilitation of amputees who aspire to mobilise. Their ability to understand and interpret a patient’s mobility aspirations has a significant impact on an individual’s ability to live their best life beyond limb loss. The LA wants to recognise those who make that difference.

They are individuals who’ve been open to learning and personal development to navigate the many challenges that have come their way. They are living active lives at work, with family and in the community.

There are many individuals (amputees and professionals) who have devoted their lives and careers to champion developments, improvements and change for the benefit of the wider limb loss community – we want to recognise their dedication.
The Sam Gallop Award

This category sees the LA Trustees award a special prize of recognition for outstanding service and support to the LA. Sam Gallop was a founding member of the Limbless Association. This award is in recognition of his resilience and fortitude living an active life as a bilateral amputee as well as his incredible and selfless contribution to champion improvements for civilian amputees.
