Virtually Speaking with Remap
Di Stevens is a retired Occupational Therapist and volunteer for the Hertfordshire South branch of the national charity, Remap UK.
Remap makes one-off pieces of equipment for people with disabilities, usually when there is nothing available from the statutory services or to buy that will resolve the problem.
Their volunteers are from all walks of life – some are qualified engineers, some good DIYers. They all work from their own homes and really enjoy solving problems.
They make no charge for the aids and devices that their team produces. Most funding is from individual donations and occasionally they apply for grants.
Di will be sharing pictures of some of the equipment they have designed and built and telling you more about their work.
The aim of this event is to create a safe and inclusive space for the benefit of the Limbless Association’s members and service users. If you are not registered with us, we will contact you in advance to establish the reason for your interest in this session.
