Amputee Games 2013 report

Amputee Games, Stoke Mandeville

The Limbless Association team won 3 gold and 3 bronze medals at the games (see the picture).  Sports + Officer Dean Heffer would like to say a big thank you to Kiera Roche and her team at LimbPower for organising the games this year again.  The amputee games is a fantastic opportunity for amputees to have a go at many different sports.  It is also a great opportunity to met other amputees and to chat socially as well.

Take a look at these sports pictures for some photographs from the games.  A summary of the results can be found here.

Junior Amputee Games, Stoke Mandeville – Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th October 2014– LimbPower Primary and Junior Games

The first amputee Junior Games was held on 15 and 16 September 2012 and was a great chance for young amputees to have a go at several different sports. Sports Officer Dean Heffer was in attendance doing football sessions over the 2 days along with Steve Johnston and James Catchpole so the young amputees had 3 experienced players to get some tips from on how to get into amputee football.

The second annual amputee games for young amputees was on 5 and 6 October 2013.  Limbless Association Sports+ Officer Dean Heffer was in attendance again coaching amputee football on the day.
